The exhibit 17 degrees is currently showing the thesis work of myself and 16 other students in the MPS Digital Photography program at SVA.
It has been a crazy year of learning, creating and being pushed to our limits by our wonderful professors.
I had a wonderful creative team inspiring me along the way, clothing designer Chandra Charlot, make up artist Arlene Leilani and models Diana Amirova, Julia @ apm, Alicja Burek, Anna Catherine, Yesenia Linares.
I drew inspiration from my traditional style of photographing in fashion, but chose to focus on physique, emotion and feminine aesthetic to create my final pieces. Below is an excerpt from my artist statement:
“By means of a feminine aesthetic my work attempts to visualize the intangible qualities of human emotion. The style of the photographs, deliberately soft and lacking in sharp detail, is meant to represent the elusive nature of creative inspiration”
I had a great time at the show opening Oct 21st! It was great to see my class mates final work hanging and catch up with friends and visitors at the show, also ran into several alumni from my alma mater RIT!
The show closes next week November 12th, so be sure to check it out!
